MANAGEMENT & STAFF | The National Joint Replacement Registry is an initiative of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA). At the time it was established, the AOA Board of Directors nominated a Registry Committee to develop policies for the operation of the Registry. This committee reports directly to the AOA Board.
Members of the committee include the Chairman (who is nominated from the AOA Board of Directors), the Registry Director and Deputy Directors, an orthopaedic surgeon from each state and territory, representatives of specialty groups, the AOA Honorary Treasurer and the Chief Executive Officer of AOA. The current members of the committee are:

The Director of the Registry, who is appointed by the AOA Board, is responsible for the day-to-day management with the assistance of the Deputy Directors (also appointed by the AOA Board). In addition, AOA employs a Registry Coordinator who is involved in maintaining liaison with hospitals, surgeons and the government as well as implementing new strategies and coordinating the preparation of the annual report.
The Registry Advisory Group is an external committee that meets four times a year. This committee was developed at the request of the Commonwealth Government to provide input from industry, government and consumer organisations to the Registry. This committee reports to the NJRR Committee and comprises a Chairman who is an orthopaedic clinician nominated by AOA, Director of the NJRR and representatives from the following organisations:
Department of Health and Ageing (DOHA) Prostheses Device Committee (PDC) Australia Health Insurance Association (AHIA) Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Consumer's Health Forum (CHF)
The Data Management and Analysis Centre, University of Adelaide, is currently contracted by AOA to provide data management and analysis services to the Registry.
The Registry is located in the Discipline of Public Health at the University of Adelaide within the Royal Adelaide Hospital. The Registry Management Group which comprises the Director, Deputy Directors and Registry Co-ordinator meet weekly to discuss the day to day operation of the Registry with the data management consultants contracted by AOA.
